Breaking Taboos in
Health and Hygiene
Breaking Taboos in
Health and Hygiene

The Breaking Taboos in Health and Hygiene project by The Suniti Solomon Foundation, in partnership with the German Consulate and SOCHARA, aims to challenge and change deep-rooted social taboos around reproductive health.
This initiative reaches both urban and rural communities, empowering adolescents and women to make informed choices for their health and well-being. Through interactive workshops and community training sessions, the program helps girls understand menstrual hygiene and confidently choose suitable menstrual products. It also engages boys in open conversations to dismantle stigma and promote gender-inclusive awareness.
By creating safe spaces for dialogue and learning, the project builds a healthier, more informed generation, one that views menstruation as natural, normal, and worthy of respect.
